Ultra-wide-angle eyepieces with a field of view of 80 ° for telescopes of all systems were developed by Ph.D. Yu.A. Klevtsov, the author of a series of TAL-K telescopes, based on the Rusinov wide-angle eyepiece, and they are a six-lens system that is well corrected from aberrations within the field of view. Chromatism of increase throughout the field does not go beyond 0.3%, relative distortion: –14.8%, astigmatism is eliminated, the field is almost flat and has no parasitic flare. The eyepieces also have corrected aberration in the pupil, and therefore the image of the field diaphragm has sharp boundaries, and the eye does not need to be moved in the transverse direction to observe the peripheral zones of the field of view.

Improved optical performance by:

  1. increase the number of lenses to 6,
  2. use of lanthanum glasses of the type “superheavy crown” in two power components (2 and 3),
  3. by changing the orientation of the lens 1.

Eyepieces have a real focus plane, ud can be installed a mesh or crosshairs. The eyepieces have an angular field of view of 80 °, a distance of the exit pupil from the last surface of the ophthalmic lens near f / 2 and are recommended for use with lenses in which the relative focus does not exceed f / 5. They are ideally suited for telescopes TAL-200K (f / 10), TAL-250K (f / 8), TAL-125R (f / 10) and other production refineries.

Developed eyepieces with focal length 15 mm (1.25 "), 20 mm (2") and 25 mm (2 ").

All lens surfaces have a multi-layer antireflective coating. Eyepieces have a threaded fit under standard filters.
