The holographic sight (collimator) refers to open sights, so the shooter does not have to close his second eye during aiming. A large field of view allows the shooter to use peripheral vision and instantly respond to an emerging threat. The hologram forms an image of the reticle and acts as an aspherical reflector, like a lens in a conventional gearbox. The holographic aspherical reflector provides parallactic errors that are much smaller than the usual spherical thin lens, which makes the sight very compact. Typically, GPs are significantly more expensive than their collimator counterparts, since a hologram can be obtained as a result of an expensive and complex process. If technical requirements are not met, the hologram can distort and decompose into the spectrum bright objects observed through it. It should be noted that the aiming speed with a holographic sight is much higher than with closed collimator or optical sights, therefore it is often used when shooting at moving targets.
